Ethnic Minorities

There are many financial assistance programs and resources benefiting certain ethnic populations:

African American Students

United Negro College Fund (UNCF) plays a critical role in enabling more than 65,000 students each year to attend college and get the education they want and deserve. To close the educational attainment gap between African Americans and the majority population, UNCF helps promising students attend college and graduate.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities Mentor (HBCUMentor) is an online portal to historically Black colleges and universities of America.

Ron Brown Scholar Program is named for the late Secretary of Commerce and inspired by his dedication to public service, the Ron Brown Scholar Program was established in 1996 to provide academic scholarships, service opportunities and leadership experiences for young African Americans of outstanding promise.

Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund (TMSF) was established in 1987 to carry on Justice Marshall's legacy of equal access to higher education by supporting exceptional merit scholars attending America's historically Black colleges and universities.

National Society of Black Engineers Scholarship Program provides various scholarships to members through the NSBE and Corporate Scholarship Programs. Individual scholarships range in value.

Black Student Fund awards tuition grants, in conjunction with schools in the DC, MD and VA areas, to Black children of modest financial means attending academically challenging institutions, grades Pre-K through 12.

African American Scholarships provides a list of sources for financial aid for African Americans students. It lists hundreds of scholarships, grants, internships and other financial aid sources, targeting African American students and provides valuable contact information to help the community reach its higher education goals.

National Association of Black Journalists Scholarships awards scholarships to deserving students interested in pursuing careers in journalism.

American Indian/Alaska Native Students

Utah Navajo Trust Fund is a private purpose trust fund of the State of Utah. UNTF provides scholarship opportunities to Native American students.

American Indian College Fund is a native-operated organization and the nation's largest provider of private scholarships for Native Americans. They support the nation's tribal colleges and universities and their students.

American Indian and Alaska Native Employee Association provides scholarships to promising Native American students.

Association on American Indian Affairs provides several scholarship programs to assist students.

Asian American Students

Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund is a national organization devoted solely to the financial scholarship needs of Asian and Pacific Islander American students.

Asian American Journalists Association offers scholarships each year to outstanding high school seniors and undergraduate and graduate students.

US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce was established to provide financial assistance to Asian American high school seniors who have demonstrated scholastic achievements, financial need and will pursue post-secondary education at an accredited educational institution in the United States.

Hispanic Students

Utah Hispanic Business Leadership Foundation provides resources to Hispanic students and adults who have demonstrated a strong commitment to education, community and have the potential to contribute to the economic development of the Latino community of Utah.

Chicana/Latina Foundation is to assist Latina students in completing their undergraduate and graduate college education.

Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund awards numerous law school scholarships each year to deserving students entering their first, second or third year of law school.

Congressional Hispanic Scholarships provide scholarship opportunity is afforded to Latino students who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and who plan to continue contributing in the future.

Scholarships for Hispanics contains scholarship information for Hispanics with more than 1,000 sources of financial aid available to Hispanic students around the country and world.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund is the nation's leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education.
