Understanding Residency Classifications

To pay tuition at the resident rate a student must qualify for resident status based on Utah state law. This application will ask several questions regarding residency in order to provide you with an initial status. These questions are required and must be answered to complete the application.

Based on the questions in the application, you will be classified in one of two groups, resident or nonresident. Students classified as nonresidents for tuition purposes, will be notified through an acceptance letter that will be sent within one week of your application. If you are classified as a nonresident and believe you should be classified as a resident based on Utah state law, you may complete an "Application for Resident Classification" available through Enrollment Services.

If you have additional questions, please contact Enrollment Services at (801) 957-4288, or go to www.slcc.edu/enrollmentservices/misc/ResidencySub.asp for additional information.
